Slovakia to send Ukraine 30 BMP-1 IFVs, getting Leopard tanks from Germany instead
The Minister of Defence of Slovakia, Yaroslav Nad, stated that his country will hand over 30 BVP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine — he stated this during the signing of the defence agreement with Germany.
The transferred equipment will be from the so-called mobilization stocks. This includes BMP-1s that are no longer used by the Slovak army.
When delivery of armored vehicles to Ukraine will begin is not specified for security reasons, but it may take weeks. The final transfer will be announced only after these vehicles reach Ukraine.
“At the moment, we are not considering sending T-72 tanks to Ukraine,” — Nad stated.

Zelensky and Duda open Alley of Courage
On August 23th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish President Andrzej Duda opened the Alley of Courage on Constitution Square in Kyiv —announced the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
"Today I want to open the Alley of Courage in the presence of Polish President Andrzej Dudi. His name will always be on this Alley. This is a symbol of courage, a symbol of friendship, of support for Ukraine when it is really needed," — said Zelensky.
The alley was founded at the initiative of the president before the 31st anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. The place was chosen because Constitution Square opposite the Verkhovna Rada was the place where "an independent Ukraine was born".
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Alley will feature the names of political leaders and other representatives of partner countries who give Ukraine important support in the fight against the Russian Federation.
"It was Poland that became one of the first countries of the European Union to provide a new home for millions of displaced Ukrainians. Industrial manufacturing, business, ordinary Poles – everyone joined the speedy adaptation and support of our citizens. The Polish government and Sejm made the procedures for crossing the border and the further inclusion of Ukrainians into the friendly European community as easy as possible," – the Office of the President stated.

Building materials are being given out for reparation of houses damaged by the enemy in Chernihiv
The Chernihiv regional state budget allocated 135.7 million hryvnias for emergency repair of buildings damaged by the enemy, and the Department of Professional Affairs of the Regional Military Administration purchases the necessary items and gives them to the communities — reports Chernihiv RMA.
"This is how it is going to happen in actuality: the state allocated money for the building materials — RMA purchased them — the communities received and distributed them — people have repaired their homes. It is necessary to manage the logistics thoroughfully, since everyone is interested in this. Materials certainly must not lie in the warehouses, when it is needed by the people", — says Viacheslav Chaus, the head of the Chernihiv RMA.
He emphasized a clear address-based registration of the handed-out materials. This will help to avoid misunderstandings in the community and will allow the authorities to better understand the actual situation regarding the needs and completed work.
Heads of communities note that it is necessary to explain to people that the materials are not intended for the nearly destroyed housing, but for the buildings that require repair.
Those, who are left without a roof over their heads in the communities, along with RMA, can look into other options: to install modular housing, get monetary compensation. Usually, such requests of authorities are addressed to international charitable foundations.
