Russia carried out the largest missile attack since the beginning of the war
On October 10, Ukraine withstood the largest missile attack on non-military objects since February 24. According to the General Staff of the AFU, the total number of missiles launched amounts to 84. Aside from that, Russian army used 24 UAVs, 13 of which were Iranian-made “Shahed-136”. 56 targets were intercepted. Among them 43 cruise missiles and 13 UAVs (including 10 of the "kamikaze" type).
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi published the scheme of the missile strikes conducted by Russian Federation.
He emphasized that the air defence forces of the Air Force, Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other anti-aircraft units destroyed most of the missiles and ammunition.
"In the conditions of such intensity of the strikes coming from all directions simultaneously, they (air defence forces, - ed.) demonstrated professionalism and dedication to the task. We are forced to repel these attacks, using Soviet-era weapons, which, moreover, we do not have in sufficient quantity," Zaluzhnyi stressed.
This is how the aggressor state 🇷🇺 carries out air-to-surface & surface-to-surface missile attacks on 🇺🇦territory. Situation as of 10:20-11:00. Enemy used air-,sea- & land based missiles; ballistic missiles; surface-to-air missiles; reconnaissance & attack UAVs of Shahed-136 typeEnergy Minister Herman Galushchenko calls this attack the largest since the beginning of the war.
"This is the largest attack on the energy system of Ukraine during the entire war. The cynicism of this attack is that the entire supply chain was hit to make it difficult to reconnect and provide electricity from other sources," the minister said.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrskyi, said that 14 people have been confirmed dead, and another 97 people have been injured.
"Actually, this is the second time since February 24 this year that there has been such a large-scale shelling, and from the point of view of critical energy infrastructure, this is probably the largest shelling in history. Now the shelling can be called energy terrorism, it was a continuation of nuclear terrorism with a Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, which the Russian Federation constantly shelled," Monastyrskyi said.
This attack was widely praised by the Russians. One of the most prominent propaganda producers in Russia, Editor-in-Chief of Russia Today, several tweets praising this attack. In this particular tweet, she tries to explain why it took Russians so long to launch such wide-scale genocidal actions using Russian folklore.
