Disinfo Chronicles: Detector Media experts published an analysis of the most recent Russian propaganda narratives.
Detector Media, a media-monitoring NGO, known as “the watchdog of Ukrainian media” released an analytical video in English, exploring Russian propagandist narratives, fakes, disinformations, and manipulations.
In particular, the authors break down the process of spreading Russian fakes, first being posted on Russian government-owned-or-affiliated media, then being amplified by "pundits", platformed by major Western media. The same is true vice versa: Russians are widely practising cherry-picking opinions and presenting them as proven facts.
Detector Media expert pinpoints how Russian “media” are violating journalistic standards, exposing several such cases and dismantling Russian narratives.

Hundreds of vehicles and several Russian generals were destroyed due to the SSU chatbot
The SSU chatbot for reporting about enemy troops, equipment and subversive groups received more than 100 thousand appeals from Ukrainians, which enabled them to destroy hundreds of units of Russian equipment and eliminate several Russian generals.
This was reported by the Head of the SSU Cyber Security Department Ilia Vitiuk.
"Our bot received more than 100 thousand reports on the enemy's movements. We clarified and verified this information through intelligence capabilities, UAV and drone operators, compared it with satellite data and sent it to the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result, many hundreds of effective hits on large convoys of equipment, more than one Russian general was killed," said Vitiuk.
According to him, this became possible thanks to the courage of ordinary Ukrainians who risked their lives to take pictures and send information.
The cyber specialist also reminded that this bot can be used to report data on collaborators, crimes related to fake "referendums" of Russia in the temporarily occupied territories, facts of looting and war crimes.
"The information immediately gets to the investigators. Thus, together we ensure that all criminals are punished," Vitiuk summed up.

Speaker of the Latvian Parliament: We must not give in to Russian nuclear blackmail
Inara Murniece, Speaker of the Saeima said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“As for nuclear blackmail, Russia is doing it indeed. But the blackmailer is usually weak. This is an indicator that he cannot win in any other way. And it is clear that one should not give in to blackmail. Otherwise, it only becomes more aggressive," Murniece said.
At the same time, she positively assessed the fact that the leaders of the world countries sent a message to Russia in this regard.
"There were very serious warnings about what will happen if Russia to some extent carries out its nuclear threats. The consequences for the Russian regime in this case will be virtually fatal. I think these are good enough reasons to restrain Russia from unpredictable actions. Because, I repeat once again, negotiations with blackmailers are unacceptable, " Saeima’s spokeswoman emphasized.
According to her, the Kremlin is destroying world relations and the legal world order. Therefore, the democratic world should continue to support Ukraine in the fight against aggression with all its might, while strengthening the international isolation of Russia. "But the most important thing is to continue to send weapons to Ukraine, to provide it with air defence systems," Murniece concluded.

Estonia recognized the Russian regime as terrorist
The decision was supported by 88 deputies of the Riigikogu, i.e. all those present at the meeting, ERR reports.
"Supporting the appeal of the Parliament of Ukraine to states and international organizations, the Riigikogu declares the Russian regime a terrorist regime and the Russian Federation a state sponsor of terrorism, whose actions must be jointly countered. The Riigikogu calls on the international community to adopt similar declarations," the document reads.
The Estonian Parliament strongly condemned Russia's military actions against Ukraine and the attempt of the illegal annexation of the occupied territory. The statement emphasizes that Estonia will never recognize the violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine as a result of aggression and holding of fake referendums.
"It is never possible to create a right through an offence. Putin's regime, which threatens with nuclear weapons, has made Russia the biggest threat to the world, both in Europe and around the world," the document reads.

Estonian Foreign Minister: World must recognize Russia's war against Ukraine as genocide
Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu called for the recognition of Russian aggression as genocide at the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum on October 18, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.
"The Russian war against Ukraine is genocide… We must recognize this war as a genocidal war," the minister said, recalling that his country was the first to recognize it at the legislative level.
According to Reinsalu, everything that Putin has been doing in recent months meets the definition of "genocide", many people understand this, but they also understand that if this fact is officially recognized, they will have to act accordingly. Therefore, according to the Estonian Foreign Minister, the appeal has not found wide support in the international community. "This is the wrong way," Reinsalu stated.

Ukraine initiates embargo on Russian fertilizers in next EU sanctions package
This was stated by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and simultaneously Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
"We will initiate through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the inclusion of a ban on the purchase of Russian fertilizers in the next package of EU sanctions against Russia. Europe is acting in this direction consistently, but still not decisively enough. In our opinion, only a complete ban on Russian exports can stop the war against Ukraine," Svyrydenko said following an online meeting with chemical industry associations.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry denied the Russian allegations about the functioning of foreign diplomatic missions in Kyiv
This was stated by Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko.
"Now there are a lot of false allegations about the functioning of foreign diplomatic missions. Mostly they are made by Russian sources in order to spread panic. The latest example is the sudden ‘closure’ of the Serbian Embassy, which actually left Kyiv in March," the diplomat noted.
Nikolenko stressed that the MFA is constantly in touch with foreign embassies that returned to Ukraine after February 24. According to him, not a single institution - the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the EU and many others - has announced their intention to leave the Ukrainian territory.
“Ukraine does the same when it comes to the threat to Ukrainians abroad. We perceive the recommendations of China and Egypt as a response to Russia's shelling of Kyiv on October 10," Nikolenko emphasized.

This was stated by Minister of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Reintegration Iryna Vereshchuk in an interview with the "We are Ukraine" channel, Ukrinform reports.
"We have already returned 98 children. We are trying to do this every day, it is becoming more and more difficult, but I still urge you to contact us - we have a portal "Children of War", a hotline, we will do our best to help return the children. We need information so that we know where in Russia, where in the uncontrolled territory there are children," Vereshchuk said.
She added that Ukrainian children were returned from different regions of Russia, including the Far East. "They are deliberately sent as far away as possible so that people do not have the opportunity to pay for the ticket if the children are with their parents, or they are separated from their brothers and sisters so that they could not communicate with each other," the Minister said.
