A petition with a call to ban citizens of the Russian Federation from conducting creative professional activities in Ukraine received 25,000 votes - it was published on the president's website, and now Volodymyr Zelenskyy must declare it.
The author of the petition, producer Olha Klymenko, registered it on August 15.
In it, she asked to ban citizens of the Russian Federation from any activity in the field of cinematography, television, radio broadcasting, theater and culture in general on the territory of Ukraine.
"Given Russia's crimes against the people, we do not see any possibility of any further cooperation in the cultural, film and theater sectors and, on the contrary, we see the need to increase Ukrainian content on television, in theaters, on the radio and in the field of cinema," the author notes.
"Long story short, no one wants our actors, directors, and other figures in Ukrainian cinematography to be replaced by orcs, as has been the case since independence. They confused the public saying that "that not everything is so obvious" or blatantly supported the terrorism of our country," Ukrainian actor Andriy Klymenkov writes.
The petition calls for banning the broadcast of any Russian content on Ukrainian TV channels, in particular, created with the participation of citizens of the Russian Federation or on the territory of the aggressor country.
It is also suggested to limit the distribution and sale of products of Russian culture on the territory of Ukraine: literary works, exhibitions, artistic works, etc.
The author of the petition proposes to develop legislative changes that allow to preserve Russian independence of Ukrainian cinema from influence, as well as to create mechanisms and procedures for this.

Members of European Parliament have awarded the brave people of Ukraine, represented by their president, elected leaders and civil society, the 2022 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.
This is made public at the website of the European Parliament.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced the 2022 laureate in the Strasbourg plenary chamber on Wednesday afternoon, following a decision by Parliament’s Conference of Presidents (the President and political group leaders).
“This award is for those Ukrainians fighting on the ground. For those who have been forced to flee. For those who have lost relatives and friends. For all those who stand up and fight for what they believe in. I know that the brave people of Ukraine will not give up and neither will we", she said.
Russia’s unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine is inflicting enormous costs on the Ukrainian people. They are not only fighting to protect their homes, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, but they are also defending freedom, democracy, the rule of law and European values on the battlefields “against a brutal regime that seeks to undermine our democracy, weaken and divide our Union”, say MEPs.
The nomination highlights the efforts of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy together with the role of individuals, representatives of civil society initiatives, and state and public institutions, including the State Emergency Services of Ukraine, Yulia Pajevska, founder of the evacuation medical unit Angels of Taira, Oleksandra Matviychuk, human rights lawyer and chairwoman of the organisation Center for Civil Liberties, the Yellow Ribbon Civil Resistance Movement, and Ivan Fedorov, the mayor of the Ukrainian city of Melitopol, which is currently under Russian occupation.
The awarding of the Sakharov Prize will take place on 14 December in Strasbourg.

Mark Hamill helped raise funds to buy more than 500 drones for Ukraine
Actor Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in George Lucas' Star Wars trilogy, helped Ukraine raise funds to buy more than 500 drones. Earlier, he joined the United24 fundraising project. This was reported by Bloomberg on October 20.
"It's very simple: Ukraine needs drones. They define the results of war, they protect their land, their people, they monitor the border, they are eyes in the sky," Hamill said in an interview with Joe Mathew on Bloomberg Radio's Sound On.
The actor himself was surprised by the success of the project.
"I was really shocked because they give me updates at least two or three times a week about what's going on. And they said they've received over 500 drones since I started doing this," Hamill said.
